What I Read – Week 38 – Part 2

Here are the weekend books. I’m not going to finish anything for week 39. I’m going to read up to the last chapter and stop so that I don’t have to post anything for a while. What do you think about that? I think I’m probably lying.

Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan – I borrowed this as an audiobook from the Boston Public Library. This started out SO slowly. Basically, Naomi and Ely are best friends and they have a list of guys that they agree not to kiss. It’s meant to save their friendship. Then Ely kisses Naomi’s boyfriend and Naomi is upset because it finally occurs to her that she and Ely are never getting together. I have no idea what this book is about, maybe forgiveness and acceptance. It actually got better as it went along. I’m giving it 3 stars.

Rush by Maya Banks – I borrowed this as an actual book from the BPL. It’s porn. It’s really well written porn. But it’s porn. I liked it. I refuse to talk about porn. If you’re interested, read it. This author was on a list of writers that are way better than 50 Shades of Grey. This is her most popular book, so I decided to give it a whirl. I read it in a day. I immediately downloaded the second book, thinking the story would continue. This is getting 4 stars.

Fever by Maya Banks – I borrowed this as an e-book from the BPL. This was also porn. It is not a direct continuation of Rush. It follows different characters. It wasn’t as hot. I’m waiting on the 3rd book for now. This is getting 3 stars. I’m going back to reading normal books.
